This short film marks the second collaboration between Usama Mukwaya and Loukman Ali after Kyaddala TV Series which was released in 2019. The Blind Date is the first of the numerous episodes meant to make an anthology of sorts, with the follow-up episode already in the making. Here is a brief overview of what to expect.

Synopsis

Jeff has a crush on a girl that is way outside his social class, but he will not let that stop him. He will do whatever it takes, including breaking a few rules.

Cast
In the leading roles are Martha Kay as Emily alongside award-winning actor Michael Wawuyo Jr as bandit Jeff. Raymond Rushabiro stars as former army man – Jacob whilst  Riverdan Rugaaju , Patriq Nkakalukanyi and  Allen Musumba star as Nathan, Martin and Jacob’s wife respectively.

The Blind Date was written and directed by Loukman Ali who executive produced the film with  Agaba Mutabaazi and Usama Mukwaya.

Sanyu
Alongside Mathew Nabwiso of Nabwiso film, Usama also produced a television show called Sanyu. Sanyu tells the story of an innocent, rural teenage girl forced to abandon her pursuit of education, leave her family, and work as a maid for a wealthy but complicated urban family. It is here where she falls for the young son of her employer. Through Sanyu, we witness the complexities of Love’s journey, emotions and drama between the  privileged and underprivileged.
